Yonghua Li-Beisson earned her Ph.D. in2002 from the University of Hull, UK. She conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford(2002-2003) and Michigan State University (2003-2008). In 2008, she joined the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) as a researcher before transitioning to the Commissariat à l'Énergie Atomique et aux Énergies Alternatives (CEA). Currently, Yonghua Li-Beisson holds the position of senior scientist at CEA (the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission) and professor at Aix-Marseille University. She leads the "Microalgae and Bioenergy" team, the "Environment, Bioenergies, Microalgae and Plants" team, and the "Bioenergies and Microalgae" team. Additionally, she serves as the director of the European platform "HelioBiotec" at CEA Cadarache. Her primary research focus is on the regulatory mechanisms of lipid metabolism in photosynthetic microalgae and higher plants. She has authored over 90 publications in prestigious journals such as Science, Nature, PNAS, and Plant Cell. Furthermore, she serves as an editor for “PlantCell” and “PlantCell and Physiology” and is a member of the advisory board for“New Phytologist”.
